Silent Key
We have lost another net member from long ago. Stan Turner W5PON, formally of Kerrville,TX, became a silent key May 6. Stan would have been 93 this year. No obituary is available yet but will be on the web site when it does become available.
ALSO, Bert AC5Z became a Silent Key on June 4 and services were held June 7 in Nacogdoches, TX. His obituary is on the History/Silent Key page of this site.
2010 Net Picnic
The 2010 Picnic summary is now available here, complete with pictures of the Whitney Nugget and certificates given. Pictures are also now on the photo page.
2011 Picnic
Those in attendance at this year's picnic voted to hold the 2011 picnic at the Riverbend Park in Smithville on May 14. The date has been confirmed with the Park office.

Whitney Nugget Recipient
We are proud to announce that the 2010 Whitney Nugget was presented to Larry KC0M. Congratulations Larry.
The Whitney Nugget was first presented in 1976 as a way to honor a Net member that had contributed greatly to the Net and Ham Radio. The Nugget has been presented every year since that time at the annual picnics, with the first recipient being Lee K5HZR. The selection each year is made by a ballot from the previous recipients.

Traffic Handling Training
An update and revised Traffic Handling Training booklet is now available in Word on the Training page. A printed version is still also available by contacting KA5AZK .
On the air Traffic Training
Traffic training scheduled for Tuesdays and Saturdays has been suspended for the time being due to poor band conditions. We will resume when (and if) propagation improves.
